Airmatic
Airmatic offers multifunctional vehicles on different platforms, including the Unimog (Wheeled) or the Marder A3 (Tracked). They are designed to be used in rescue and recovery missions as well as in fire fighting situations. The Marder A3 is demilitarized but its entire armament is left intact and protects the crew against heat as well as possible explosions. Therefore, the appliance can fight fires on a much closer proximity and much more efficiently than any conventional fire fighting apparatus. The appliance may also be equipped with a bulldozer blade to cut fire breaks or remove obstructive objects. The inside water tanks are flexible and can be stored away in rescue situations. The Marder A3 can safely rescue and carry up to 10 people. The on-board oxygen system can be used for crew as well as the engine.
The extinguishing system uses a patented rotating high-pressure technology and uses only a fraction of the water a conventional system does. The rotation of the water-gun, in combination with a higher water-pressure, permits the water-jet to travel as far as with a conventional system. The crew can operate the system from inside the vehicle with the help of a joystick.
Airmatic can demonstrate the effectiveness of the vehicles in the back-yard. Airmatic is located on a former Training Area of the German Army in the city of Hemer.
